United Airlines will introduce Economy Plus seats with blocked middle seats.
In one row of its Airbus A321XLR aircraft, the middle seat will not be used and will instead be replaced with a large table. The table will be fixed in place, feature a soft leather-like surface finish, and include two cup holders.
The aircraft is scheduled to enter service on domestic routes later this year and on international routes by early 2027. It is expected to replace Boeing 757 aircraft, with most transatlantic routes planned to be operated with a crew of five flight attendants.
