Tsuruya Tourism Development will open Kohaku no Sho, a Tsuruya Ryokan on Lake Shikotsu, on August 10.
Located on the shores of Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido, the property is surrounded by active volcanoes and forests. It offers a total of 24 guest rooms: eight Twin Rooms with Hot Spring Baths, four Garden Twin Rooms with Hot Spring Baths, two Quad Rooms with Hot Spring Baths, and 10 Deluxe Twin Rooms with Hot Spring Baths. All rooms measure at least 50 square meters and feature hot spring baths. Facilities include a lounge, bar, restaurant, and gift shop. Dining will feature “Kishoku,” regional cuisine that combines Hokkaido ingredients with traditional techniques under the themes of fermentation and aging. Reservations are already being accepted.
The property is approximately one hour by car from Sapporo and around 40 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport. A complimentary shuttle bus service from New Chitose Airport and JR Chitose Station is also scheduled to operate with advance reservations required.
