Star Resort has acquired namyu the place from Miki Resort. The property will reopen under a new brand this autumn.
Located in the southeastern part of Miyako Island, Okinawa, this small luxury hotel offers approximately 60 square meters of guest room space per villa, along with a private terrace of approximately 52 square meters and an infinity pool. It is approximately a 25-minute drive from Miyako Airport and approximately a 50-minute drive from Shimojishima Airport.
Star Resort has been acquiring hotels on Miyako Island and Irabu Island. JIVANA Miyakojima, which it took over in 2024, achieved an occupancy rate of more than 90% and improved average daily room rates following value-enhancement measures.
namyu the place opened in 2021 and has received high guest reviews. Although its room rates had been in the JPY 200,000 range, its occupancy rate had fallen to the 30% range in recent years due to intensifying competition for staff. HOKULEA, a group company, will handle the architectural design.
