Chiikawa Bonbon Drop Stickers Found at Hong Kong 7-Eleven Stores

The popularity of Chiikawa shows no signs of slowing down. In Japan, its collaboration merchandise often sells out immediately whenever it is released, sometimes drawing long lines, making it a staple of Japanese pop culture.

Over the past year or so, Chiikawa has also rapidly expanded its presence in Hong Kong. A succession of exhibitions, food and beverage collaborations, and limited-edition merchandise has made it clear that Hong Kong is becoming an important hub for Chiikawa’s overseas expansion. The large-scale CHIIKAWA DAYS exhibition, held at K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, in the summer of 2025, drew such a strong response that its run was extended beyond the originally scheduled dates. The effect of hearing “Chiikawa!” when tapping an IC card at the ticket gates of East Tsim Sha Tsui Station was amusingly surreal.

You Encounter Chiikawa Everywhere You Go

Even in 2026, there is no sign of this momentum fading. When the author visited Hong Kong in mid-February, during the Lunar New Year period, characters dressed in festive costumes could be seen throughout the city alongside the holiday decorations. Walking around, it was impossible to go a day without seeing Chiikawa: people of all ages and genders wore merchandise or Chiikawa hoodies. It feels as though the characters have naturally become part of everyday life in Hong Kong.

About the Hard-to-Find Bonbon Drop Stickers

Amid this trend, we heard that Chiikawa drop stickers, which are in short supply in Japan, were being sold regularly at 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong. Looking into it, the product is officially called “Chiikawa Bonbon Drop Stickers” and is sold by Sun-Star Stationery. ▲Priced at 550 yen including tax each. They were initially sold normally, but as their popularity grew, sales shifted to a lottery system. Every page we could find currently showed them as sold out. On Mercari, they are often traded for more than double their retail price, and their popularity has become so intense that warnings have been issued about counterfeit products. If these drop stickers could be purchased normally, there was no reason not to buy them.

First, Three Varieties

Like in Japan, 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong are typical convenience stores selling mainly beverages and food, along with some daily necessities. We first stopped by a store in the city center, but could not find the stickers. Thinking that stores in tourist areas might carry them, we headed to a location near the summit of Victoria Peak—and hit the jackpot.

However, only three of the four varieties were available: “Chiikawa,” “Hachiware,” and “Chiikawa × Hachiware × Usagi.” The standalone “Usagi” version was nowhere to be found. They cost HK$47 each, or approximately 940 yen. While that is expensive compared with the Japanese retail price, it seems perfectly acceptable considering the hassle of entering a lottery sale or buying from resellers. For the time being, we bought three of each variety, including some as souvenirs, and left the store.

What About the Airport?

After that, we searched for the remaining variety but had difficulty finding it. Then we came across a post on X saying that all the varieties were displayed at a store inside Hong Kong International Airport. Somewhat skeptical, we stopped by a 7-Eleven at the airport on the final day—and there they were.

We found them. Just as the online information said, all four varieties were available here. In addition to the stickers, the store also had merchandise such as tote bags and stamps. Being able to pick them up at the airport after arriving or before departing is a major convenience for fans.

Tips for Finding Them

With that, we successfully completed the September 2025 release series. The key tips for finding them are likely these two points: look near relatively popular tourist destinations, and look for stores with larger sales floors. Naturally, stock levels fluctuate, and given their current popularity, they may also be sold somewhere other than 7-Eleven. However, since counterfeit versions are already circulating, 7-Eleven is one of the most reliable options for anyone who wants to buy them with confidence. If you are planning a trip to Hong Kong, do not stop at the check-in counter and departure immigration—take a look at the convenience store shelves as well.
