Kagoshima Kotsu will temporarily resume operation of the “Kirishima-go” highway bus service between Kagoshima and Kumamoto.
The service had been suspended due to the Kumamoto earthquakes, but one round trip will operate via a detour route only on August 8 and 9. A bus with four-across seating will be used.
From Kagoshima Main Port to Kagoshima Airport, the bus will stop at each stop (Tenmonkan, Kagoshima Chuo Station, Shimo-Ishiki, and Kosoku Chosa). It will operate nonstop between Kagoshima Airport and Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Delays of around two hours from the scheduled times are expected, with the journey anticipated to take approximately five and a half to six hours.
The Kirishima-go normally operates six round trips per day, via locations including in front of the Kumamoto Prefectural Government Office, Mashiki, and Yatsushiro.
