Cathay Pacific Airways plans to reopen its Cathay Pacific Lounge at Narita International Airport in Japan as early as 2027, following renovations. The lounge has been temporarily closed since May 11 for renovation work.
The current Cathay Pacific Lounge relocated and reopened on February 15, 2023. It occupied the former site of American Airlines’ Admirals Club lounge without major alterations. Covering 1,240 square meters and offering 235 seats, the lounge represented a 2.4-fold increase in floor area and a 1.6-fold increase in seating capacity. It is equipped with an “IT Zone” workspace and five shower rooms. The lounge features spatial decorations by flower design company Belle Fleur, as well as lighting pieces by Arita Porcelain Lab, which uniquely combines the tradition of Arita ware with contemporary sensibilities.
In 2024, Cathay Pacific announced plans to invest HK$100 billion over the following seven years in areas including aircraft, cabins, and airport lounges. The airline has renovated its lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport and its First Class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, and will also open a new lounge at Terminal 6 of New York John F. Kennedy International Airport later this year.
