Cathay Pacific to Reopen Renovated Narita Lounge in 2027
The Australian Government has approved the “Master Plan 2045” for Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport.
By 2045, annual passenger numbers are set to increase to more than 72 million, with international services accounting for around half of the total. The airport’s annual economic contribution is expected to grow to approximately A$70 billion, while direct employment is projected to increase to more than 105,000 jobs.
The centerpiece of the plan is the redevelopment of the domestic precinct. It aims to reorganize all three terminals and deliver a new integrated terminal experience for domestic, regional, and international flights.
A draft of the master plan was released for public consultation in September 2025. Following public feedback and briefings for local residents, it was submitted to the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government in March this year.
