Batik Air Malaysia to Operate Charter Flights from Sendai and Tokyo/Narita to Kota Kinabalu
Etihad Airways will switch its Abu Dhabi–Dhaka route to year-round operations.
The route was launched on June 26 and currently operates four weekly round trips, departing Abu Dhabi on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and departing Dhaka on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Boeing 777 aircraft are used, configured with 28 Business Class seats and 374 Economy Class seats, for a total of 302 seats. Flight time is 4 hours and 50 minutes from Abu Dhabi and 5 hours and 5 minutes from Dhaka.
Although the service was initially scheduled to operate seasonally through October 24, it will now operate year-round in response to strong demand.
The move will strengthen trade and cargo transport links in South Asia and meet steady, sustained demand for travel and logistics between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bangladesh. The UAE is home to one of the world’s largest Bangladeshi communities, while Bangladesh is a major hub for the apparel and textile industry, where improved cargo transport efficiency is also expected.
