Starlux Airlines Launches Gold AIRSORAYAMA A350-1000 Special Livery
United Airlines and CAE have completed the first phase of expansion work at their pilot training facility in Denver, United States.
The facility consists of eight buildings and is located in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood. It occupies a 22-acre site and offers approximately 700,000 square feet of training space. It is equipped with a total of 86 devices, including 52 full-motion flight simulators and 34 fixed training devices. The facility can conduct more than 32,000 training sessions annually and train up to 860 pilots per day. It operates 24 hours a day, 362 days a year.
It serves as the sole training facility for approximately 18,000 active United Airlines pilots and newly hired pilots. All pilots undergo simulator training when they initially obtain their qualifications and every nine months thereafter.
The second phase of the expansion is scheduled to begin in 2027 and is expected to become operational around 2030. In July, the Denver City Council approved rezoning for two parcels of undeveloped land near Denver International Airport that the company acquired in 2023. The new facilities will be used alongside the existing facility.
The company invested more than US$145 million in a new building that opened in 2024, creating more than 300 new jobs. Of the more than 11,400 employees at its Denver hub, over 1,600 work at the facility. Since 2016, total investment in the facility has reached US$370 million.
United Airlines considers Denver its fastest-growing hub and has invested nearly US$1 billion since 2021 to improve the customer experience at Denver International Airport. The investments include new gates, its largest United Club, and a new check-in lobby. The airline hired more than 1,400 people in Denver in 2025 and plans to hire an additional 1,300 or more in 2026.
