Marriott International has signed an agreement to open a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Shanghai, China.
It will be the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve to adopt an urban concept, reimagining the brand’s philosophy for major gateway cities around the world. Rather than a conventional luxury hotel, it will offer immersive cultural experiences and wellbeing.
Located in Shanghai’s North Bund, the property will form part of a mixed-use development comprising retail facilities, offices, residences, and an observation deck. The approximately 480-meter-tall, 103-story building will feature 110 guestrooms. Many rooms will offer views of the Bund and the Huangpu River. Suites and a Presidential Suite will also be available. Facilities will include specialty restaurants, Chinese dining, a lobby lounge, bar, indoor pool, fitness center, and a spa and wellness retreat.
With this opening, Shanghai is expected to become the only city to feature all eight of Marriott International’s luxury brands. The opening is planned for 2030.
