United Airlines will launch a route between Okinawa/Naha and San Francisco on March 27, 2027.
The airline will operate three weekly round trips, departing Okinawa/Naha on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and departing San Francisco on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Boeing 777-200ER aircraft will be used. Flight time will be 11 hours from Okinawa/Naha and 13 hours 15 minutes from San Francisco. It will be the only nonstop service connecting Okinawa/Naha and the United States.
At an event held at Newark Liberty International Airport, the airline unveiled its Airbus A321XLR aircraft for the first time and announced service to 10 new cities in Europe and Asia, as well as three new routes.
In addition, it will launch routes between Washington/Dulles and Toulouse, as well as between New York/Newark and Luxembourg, Marseille, Ibiza, Valencia, Terceira, Ljubljana, Olbia, and Catania.
