ANA Launches Bid My Price Upgrades to Business Class
RECARO Aircraft Seating has unveiled the “R4,” a next-generation seat for premium class cabins. It succeeds the “PL3530,” which was introduced in 2015.
The seat has already received ETSO (European Technical Standard Order) approval for the Boeing 787, and the company is pursuing additional certifications. Deliveries began in June, with entry into service expected by the end of the year.
The R4 features a 16-inch monitor, a six-way adjustable headrest with neck support, ambient lighting, and privacy wings with integrated reading lights. It also supports a range of power options.
In addition, RECARO has incorporated a side console designed to be more accessible for passengers requiring mobility assistance, as well as a newly developed wide, single-piece table with a soft opening and closing mechanism and holders for smartphones and tablets. Colors, trims, and finishes can also be customized, enabling airlines to create cabins that reflect their individual brands.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Hiller said, “Building on the success of the PL3530, the R4 combines comfort, ergonomics, and premium features to meet the evolving expectations of airlines and passengers.”
