JW Marriott Hotel Nara will offer its “Halloween Autumn Afternoon Tea” from September 1 through October 31.
Inspired by “Halloween for adults,” the afternoon tea features sweets and savory items in a palette of black, purple, and orange. The top tier presents alluring Halloween-night-themed treats in deep purple and black, including acai blancmange with butterfly pea tea jelly, a berry and cassis black macaron, an eyeball-decorated chocolate tart, red wine and raspberry bonbons, and blueberry and fig mousse. The middle and bottom tiers feature savory items made with pumpkin and purple sweet potato, such as black rice risotto arancini with bloody tomato sauce, pumpkin blancmange, bamboo charcoal petit choux, and purple sweet potato salad. Pumpkin scones and coffee and macadamia nut scones are served with blueberry jam and maple syrup scented with fragrant Japanese osmanthus. Coffee and tea are available on a 90-minute free-flow basis.
The afternoon tea is served at Lounge & Bar Flying Stag on the first floor. Service is available from noon to 5 p.m., with a 120-minute seating limit. The price is 6,958 yen, including tax and service charge.
