Air Busan to Launch Takamatsu–Busan Route on March 31
Xiamen Airlines launched a new route between Xiamen and London Heathrow on September 6.
The service operates three round trips per week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Boeing 787 aircraft. Flight time is 12 hours and 45 minutes from Xiamen and 11 hours and 25 minutes from London Heathrow.
This is the first nonstop service connecting Fujian Province, China, and London. The schedule has been designed for convenience, with morning arrivals in both cities allowing for onward connections.
To coincide with the departure of the inaugural flight from Xiamen, the check-in area displayed photographs of Xiamen’s coastal scenery alongside images of British landmarks, including Big Ben, red double-decker buses, and telephone boxes. A themed photo zone at the gate was bustling with students and families eager to capture memories of their journey. A quiz competition was also held as a pre-boarding interactive activity. On board, passengers received 3D commemorative cards and luggage tags, while two special non-alcoholic cocktails were served.
