Nagasaki Prefecture to Begin Sales of Kyushu Travel Support Discounts
Kagoshima Prefecture will implement the “Kagoshima Tourism Support Discount.”
In response to accommodation cancellations caused by the Kumamoto earthquakes, the program will be implemented as a Kagoshima Prefecture initiative separate from the national government’s “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” travel assistance program. It offers discounts of up to 60%, or a maximum of 20,000 yen per person per reservation, on accommodation costs for trips involving overnight stays within the prefecture. Day trips and accommodations for official business trips or business travel are not eligible.
The sales period and eligible stay period will both run from September 14 through October 13, including check-outs the following day. Applications will be accepted through direct bookings with eligible facilities, as well as through travel agencies and accommodation booking websites. When using the program, the representative traveler must verify their identity and complete a subsidy application form.
Details of the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” will be announced on the Kagoshima Prefecture website once finalized.
