
JR East Develops Next-Generation Tohoku Shinkansen “E10 Series”
Hanshin Electric Railway will launch its “Rakuyan Seat” service in spring 2027.
The service will be offered in the third car from the Osaka-Umeda Station end of six-car formations of the new 3000 series express trains. It will be available on selected Direct Limited Express and Limited Express services operating between Osaka-Umeda Station and Sanyo-Himeji Station via the Hanshin Main Line, Kobe Kosoku Line, and Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line.
The car will have a total of 38 seats: 24 L/C seats that can also be arranged as cross seats, and 14 longitudinal seats. All seats will be equipped with power outlets, while the L/C seats will also feature reclining functions and drink holders.
The service launch date and the method for purchasing reserved-seat tickets will be announced once decided. The fee will be 300 yen (tax included), with the regular fare required separately.
