Hokkaido Air System (HAC) has been selling the “UNIvers AIR” flight tag keyholder, made with sea urchin-dyed fabric, through its inflight sales service since September 10.
Okushiri Island is famous for its Kita-murasaki sea urchins. Dye extracted from the shells of these sea urchins is used to create tie-dye patterns. An HAC ATR42-600 aircraft is placed in the center, while motifs representing the nature, food, history, and culture of HAC’s nine destinations are connected to depict a single landscape.
The price is ¥2,000, including tax. Payment is accepted in cash only, and purchases are limited to three items per person.
