Peach Aviation launched its Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon route on September 20. This is the airline’s first new international route serving Narita Airport in approximately seven years, since the launch of its Taipei/Taoyuan and Kaohsiung routes in October 2019.
The Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon route operates one daily round trip. Outbound flight MM651 departs Tokyo/Narita at 9:30 a.m. and arrives in Seoul/Incheon at 12:25 p.m. The return flight, MM652, departs Seoul/Incheon at 1:35 p.m. and arrives in Tokyo/Narita at 4:15 p.m. Peach said that, combined with its existing Tokyo/Haneda–Seoul/Incheon service, the route allows travelers to plan flexible itineraries according to their schedules. One-way fares start from 5,680 yen.
For the first time on a Peach route to South Korea, passengers can also pre-order inflight meals. Available options include rich meat sauce spaghetti, curry rice with chunks of chicken, chicken gapao-style rice, and Chibo okonomiyaki (pork-and-egg).
To coincide with the departure of the inaugural flight, a launch ceremony was held at Narita Airport. Flight crew and cabin attendants wearing Peach’s new uniforms, which will be introduced on October 1, appeared alongside models dressed in chima jeogori, traditional Korean attire. Commemorative gifts were distributed to passengers. The new uniforms were unveiled in Osaka on September 3, marking their first appearance in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The inaugural MM651 flight (Airbus A320neo, registration JA219P) carried 188 passengers, including one infant. It departed its gate at Narita Airport at 9:38 a.m. and took off at 9:52 a.m.
The Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon route is a highly competitive market already served by 12 airlines: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, ZIPAIR Tokyo, Jeju Air, Jin Air, T’way Air, Air Seoul, Air Busan, Eastar Jet, Air Premia, and Parata Air. With Peach’s entry, a total of 13 airlines now operate scheduled passenger services on the route.
Speaking at the ceremony, Peach Executive Officer Shiko Fukushima described the Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon route as “one of the world’s premier routes, served by a great many airlines and used by a great many passengers,” adding that Peach was launching service “after thorough preparation.” According to Fukushima, Peach’s overall on-time performance exceeded 90% in June and July. “We want to use this high on-time performance as a strength to provide services that are second to none among airlines,” he said.
With the launch of the Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon route, Peach now operates two international routes from Tokyo/Narita, including its existing Taipei/Taoyuan service. The Kaohsiung route is currently suspended. Beginning with the launch of the Seoul/Incheon service, the airline plans to further expand and revitalize its network serving Narita Airport.
