Onko Chishin will open Aso Retreat HONO by Onko Chishin on November 2.
The property will offer a total of 17 guest rooms across six categories: one detached Villa Suite available for exclusive rental, two 4-Bed Suites, five Deluxe rooms, three Superior rooms, two Standard rooms, and four Moderate rooms. Rooms range in size from 65 to 168 square meters. All rooms overlook the Aso Five Peaks and feature private hot springs. Selected rooms also include saunas and terraces.
The property features an “edible garden” cultivating native plants and other produce. The restaurant will serve “Primitive Gastronomy,” expressing the natural character of Aso, Kumamoto, in every dish. Ingredients will include vegetables grown in volcanic soil, mountain produce nurtured by the watershed, and plants and wild mountain vegetables gathered through foraging in the edible garden and surrounding area, prepared over wood fires and glowing embers.
