JAL Cancels All Domestic Flights Departing Tokyo/Haneda After 6 PM Due to Typhoon 25
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Amadeus will begin the global rollout of NDC content through the Amadeus Travel Platform in October.
NDC is a next-generation communications standard established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for exchanging information on airline tickets, ancillary services and other products. JAL has been selling air tickets through NDC since 2020.
Through this partnership, travel agencies in 26 countries and regions worldwide will gradually be able to handle JAL Group air tickets using NDC. The initiative covers international air tickets, with sales beginning on October 1 in Japan and October 13 overseas. This will be the first time a Japanese airline has sold air tickets via NDC through the Amadeus Travel Platform.
The two companies said that the significant increase in the volume of data exchanged between JAL, travel agencies and customers will enable them to offer products and services in a more timely and flexible manner.
Ross Leggett, Senior Vice President and Head of Route Marketing at JAL, commented, “We are delighted to be able to deliver JAL Group air tickets to customers around the world via NDC.” Javier Laforge, Executive Vice President of the Travel Unit and Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Amadeus, said, “NDC is a key foundation for enabling more modern, customer-centric travel retailing.”
