Rakuten Group will begin selling the Oita Prefecture portion of the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” travel assistance program on its travel booking website, Rakuten Travel, from noon on September 25.
Eligible products include standalone accommodation bookings and Dynamic Packages combining air tickets and accommodation. The eligible stay period is from October 1 through December 25, with checkout permitted through the following day in all cases.
On Rakuten Travel, Dynamic Packages combining JR rail tickets and accommodation, multi-prefecture touring trips covering two or more prefectures, and reservations made through foreign-language websites are not eligible.
The Kyushu Recovery Support Discount applies to travel and accommodation products in the Kyushu region involving stays of one night or more, offering a 50% discount on travel and accommodation costs. Kumamoto and Kagoshima prefectures, where cancellations have had a major impact on tourism, offer a 60% discount. The maximum discount is ¥20,000 per night for standalone accommodation products and accommodation travel products with transportation; ¥30,000 for accommodation travel products with transportation for stays of two nights or more; and ¥35,000 for touring travel products covering accommodation in two or more prefectures. Day trips, day-use stays, business trips funded by public expenses, business use, and plans that include highly convertible gift certificates are not eligible.
