Vessel Hotel Development has been conducting a trial at all 36 of its hotels since September 8 that fully waives cancellation fees when guests cancel travel plans due to a child’s sudden illness.
The program applies to children aged 0 to 6 at the time of their planned stay, waiving cancellation fees for the room in which the child would stay and for all accompanying family members. Reservations must be made by phone or through the official website. Based on usage during the trial period and customer feedback, the company plans to consider a full-scale rollout around January 2027.
As part of its other Kids Support services, Vessel Hotels also offers free bed-sharing for guests aged 18 and under; waives cleaning fees for bedwetting and repair costs for damage to in-room equipment caused by children aged 0 to 6; provides free rentals of baby items such as cribs and strollers, as well as complimentary diapers and baby wipes; and offers free breakfast for children aged 5 and under using bed-sharing arrangements.
