American Airlines Begins Operating Refurbished Boeing 777-300ER
Hawaiian Airlines will deploy Boeing 737-800 aircraft on its Honolulu–Kahului route from October 3.
The airline will operate aircraft in Alaska Airlines livery, with three round trips per day. As part of the replacement of Boeing 717 aircraft, the move will supplement capacity on interisland routes while maintaining the number of flights. Boeing 717 aircraft will continue to operate around 140 daily flights on interisland routes.
Hawaiian Airlines will retire its Boeing 717 aircraft in 2028 and introduce Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Hawaiian Airlines livery. Starlink Wi-Fi will also become available.
From the same day, the deadline for check-in and baggage drop on interisland routes will be 50 minutes before departure. The current deadline is 30 minutes before departure; the change is intended to improve baggage handling and promote on-time departures.
