Short Cruise Report: Sailing from Naha to Taiwan’s Keelung on MSC Bellissima
Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has issued Tokai Kisen an order to suspend the use of vessels under Article 17 of the Maritime Transportation Act.
The order follows inspections conducted since January of Tokai Kisen and its vessels, which confirmed violations of the Maritime Transportation Act, including failures to comply with safety management regulations established under the Act.
The vessels Tachibana Maru, Seven Island Yui, and Seven Island Tomo, which operate on the Tokyo–Hachijojima route, the Tokyo–Oshima–Kozushima route, and the Atami–Oshima route, have been ordered out of service for 20 days, from October 9 through 28.
