Etihad Airways will increase flights on its Abu Dhabi–Sydney route to twice daily from December 15.
The route currently operates 10 round trips per week. Four additional weekly round trips will be added, bringing the total to two daily round trips. Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be used.
With the additional flights, seat capacity between the two cities will expand to more than 10,000 seats per week. Connections with partner airlines Qantas Airways, Jetstar Airways, and Air New Zealand will provide access to destinations across Australia and New Zealand. The number of European cities accessible via same-day connections in Abu Dhabi will also increase significantly.
