Cathay Pacific to Operate Up to 157 Weekly Round Trips on Japan Routes in Winter Schedule
Skymark will change its boarding deadline to 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time, effective October 25.
The change is part of an initiative jointly promoted by the Scheduled Airlines Association of Japan and its member airlines to ensure on-time performance. The airlines are urging passengers to comply with their respective boarding deadlines while reviewing various related cut-off times.
Skymark explains that the “departure time” displayed on airline tickets and information boards refers to the time when the aircraft’s doors are closed and it begins to move. After all passengers have passed through the boarding gate, various procedures are required before departure, including final aircraft weight-and-balance calculations and safety checks. For this reason, the boarding deadline is set before the departure time. Passengers will not be permitted to board after the deadline.
