Lufthansa Group Postpones Dubai Service Resumption to November 25
Aero K will launch the Matsuyama–Cheongju route on January 2, 2027. This will be the airline’s first scheduled service to Shikoku.
The airline will operate three weekly round trips on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats. Flight time will be 1 hour and 35 minutes in both directions.
As a result, international services to and from Matsuyama will expand to 27 weekly round trips across four routes, including Seoul/Incheon, Busan, and Taipei/Taoyuan. The launch of this route will be the first new international route since the Busan service, approximately three years ago. It will give Shikoku the largest number of South Korea routes.
In June, the airline operated an inbound charter flight from Cheongju, which was fully booked. Local travel agencies also gave positive feedback, citing the airport’s proximity and convenient access to the city center, as well as the large number of major tourist attractions. In July, the governor visited Aero K’s headquarters to encourage the launch of scheduled services. An inbound charter flight was also operated in October.
