Cathay Pacific: Amadeus System Breach Exposes Reservation Information
LOT Polish Airlines has launched “LOT Fly&Rail,” a service that allows travelers to purchase airline tickets and rail tickets in a single booking.
The service covers a total of 33 stations: 18 stations served by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) from Zurich and Geneva airports, and 15 stations served by Swedish Railways (SJ) from Stockholm Airport.
AccesRail, which provides technology solutions for airlines, has integrated the rail routes with LOT Polish Airlines’ reservation system. Initially, the service will be offered in combination with short-haul routes. The eligible routes will be expanded gradually, with the aim of eventually covering the entire network.
Bookings are available through all sales channels. When passengers enter a station in Sweden or Switzerland as their final destination on the official website, options combining flights and rail travel will be displayed.
Check-in must be completed separately for each segment. Flight check-in is carried out as usual online or through the app, while the rail segment requires separate check-in through AccesRail’s check-in platform. Check-in is available from 24 hours before train departure for SBB and 36 hours before departure for SJ.
Robert Ludera, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of LOT Polish Airlines, commented, “Combining air and rail travel improves access to many regions and provides travelers with greater flexibility.” He added, “LOT Fly&Rail is the first step in expanding our intermodal offerings, and its importance will continue to grow, particularly in light of the planned opening of Port Polska, Poland’s new airport.”
LOT Polish Airlines said that integrating air and rail travel aligns with the logic of a hub-based model, which efficiently transports passengers from each market to major connecting hubs.
