Nankai Brings Back Two-Tone Color Scheme for 7100 Series Trains Starting August 21
Nankai Electric Railway is set to start operating trains with a restored paint scheme for the 7100 series from August 21.
The 7100 series vehicles (one formation of four cars) will be painted in the dark and light green two-tone color scheme used before 1992. The service area will be between Namba and Wakayamako/Kansai Airport stations. Nankai has been restoring the stainless unpainted appearance for the 6000 series trains operating on the Koya Line since 2023.
A photography session for the restored 7100 series trains will be held on August 17. It will take place in two parts, one starting at 10 am and the other at 1 pm, each lasting an hour, at the Chiyoda Workshop. The fee is 7,100 yen. The capacity is 120 people per session, totaling 240 people. Reservations can be made from July 19 to July 25 at 5 pm, on a first-come, first-served basis through the website.
