ZIPAIR Tokyo Begins Sales of Rice to North America and Singapore
ZIPAIR Tokyo, in collaboration with JAL Cargo Service, has launched rice sales.
Purchases and payments can be made on the official website, and the rice can be collected at the JAL ABC Counter at Narita Airport and checked in for free. This service, similar to the one previously offered for Wagyu beef, is the second of its kind. It utilizes the Narita Public Wholesale Market, with JAL Cargo handling the product packaging, export quarantine procedures, and transportation to the airport.
Two types of rice are available: “Akita Prefecture Akita Komachi” (5 kg 7,000 JPY, 10 kg 13,000 JPY) and “Chiba Prefecture Tako Rice” (3 kg 5,000 JPY, 6 kg 9,000 JPY, 9 kg 12,000 JPY), along with set products that include Amazake.
The service is available for passengers traveling from Tokyo/Narita to Singapore, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Honolulu, and Vancouver. For Singapore-bound passengers, there are import restrictions on food, with non-meat, non-fish, non-produce, and non-egg food items allowed up to 5 kg per person and a total value of up to 100 Singapore dollars.
Booking opened at noon on July 25. It applies to flights boarded on or after August 1.
