JAL Launches ‘Hometown Tax Donation for Journeys’ Service
Japan Airlines (JAL), JALUX, and GIFTY have launched a ‘Hometown Tax Donation’ service through the ‘JAL Hometown Tax’ website, starting September 1.
This service is provided in collaboration with the ‘Journey Tax Donation’ operated by GIFTY, which enables hometown tax donations while traveling. The ‘e-Town Gift’ offered as a return gift equivalent to 30% of the donation amount can be used in one-yen increments at participating eateries, accommodations, and experience facilities within the target area.
Initially, this service targets Chitose City and Kutchan Town in Hokkaido, Shirahama Town in Wakayama Prefecture, Izumo City in Shimane Prefecture, and Amami City, Kikai Town, Ryugojima Town, Tokunoshima Town, Isen Town, Amagi Town, Wadomari Town, China Town in Kagoshima Prefecture. The target local governments are planned to expand sequentially.
To celebrate the launch of this service, a campaign is also being conducted for those who donate a total of 10,000 yen or more to the travel and experience category of JAL Hometown Tax, offering a chance to win travel vouchers usable for JAL Dynamic Packages.
