Hoshino Resorts Bandai Onsen Hotel will open the ‘Dekkora Akabeko Snow Plaza’ from December 14, 2024, to April 6, 2025.
Through the figure of Akabeko, a papier-mâché doll that has been crafted in Aizu for 400 years, the aim is to familiarize visitors with Aizu culture by providing a ‘Beko-genic’ space decorated with playground equipment inspired by Akabeko. This year, new events such as ‘Akabeko Snow Fight,’ where participants throw snowballs into the mouth of a large Akabeko, and ‘Akabeko Snowman,’ where people can enjoy decorating with nuts, twigs, and knit hats using molds, will be introduced.
