Malaysia Airlines’ Cabin Crew to Wear Historical Uniforms Celebrating 50 Years of London Flights
Malaysia Airlines will have its cabin crew wear uniforms from various eras for a limited time.
As part of the “Heritage in the Skies” campaign commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Kuala Lumpur-London route, the cabin crew will wear six different “Sarong Kebaya” uniforms that have been worn since 1963 from November 3rd to 16th.
Additionally, from November 3rd to 14th, all six types of the “Sarong Kebaya” will be displayed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.
The first “Sarong Kebaya” uniforms were introduced in 1963, followed by updates in 1967, 1972, 1986, and 1992. The current uniform, updated in the shades of pink and purple, showcases designs by the Italian fashion house, Gherardini, from 1992, featuring local flowers such as the Champa, Jasmine, and Hibiscus.
