Toyota Industries to Acquire Siemens Logistics through its Subsidiary
Toyota Industries has announced that its subsidiary, Vanderlande, will acquire Siemens Logistics and its related companies.
Siemens Logistics, headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, operates more than 50 locations across 16 countries and regions, employing over 2,500 staff. The company specializes in airport baggage handling, an area Vanderlande has prioritized. With global air passenger demand increasing, there is a growing market and a rising need for automated systems to enable flexible and efficient baggage handling and sorting, integrated with flight and passenger information, aiming to strengthen customer base and offer higher value-added products and services.
The plan is to acquire all shares from Siemens for 300 million euros, subject to regulatory approval, aiming for completion by 2025.
Vanderlande was established in 1949 and develops logistics systems for the retail, parcel, and postal services sectors. Toyota Industries acquired it in 2017 for approximately 140 billion yen.
