Marugame Udon Re-enters the Korean Market with a Franchise Contract with the Lotte Group
Toridoll Holdings will re-launch “Marugame Udon” in South Korea.
A master franchise contract has been signed with Lotte Global Restaurant Service, a comprehensive food service company in South Korea. The first store is set to open in Seoul in 2025. Over the next 2-3 years, the plan is to roll out a variety of store formats including flagship stores, airport stores, mall stores, and street stores, aiming to develop over 50 stores as a goal.
Toridoll Holdings had been operating Marugame Udon in South Korea from 2012 until 2021 but withdrew due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Talks are ongoing with Lotte Global Restaurant Service to potentially introduce various brands owned by Toridoll Holdings into the South Korean market.
Lotte Global Restaurant Service currently operates several brands in the South Korean market including the hamburger chain “Lotteria”, the coffee brand “Angel-in-us”, and the major doughnut chain “Krispy Kreme Doughnuts”.
