Anco van der Werff, President and CEO, commented, “This is a very important step for the cooperation between Denmark and the Scandinavian countries. Enhancing Copenhagen Airport as a global hub requires close cooperation among all stakeholders. The decision by the Danish government facilitates the coordination necessary for strengthening our collaboration, which we wholeheartedly welcome.”
According to Reuters, the Danish Ministry of Finance will acquire 59.4% of the shares of Copenhagen Airport for approximately 32 billion Danish kroner from the Danish Pension Fund ATP, bringing its ownership stake to 98.6%.
Copenhagen Airport is Denmark’s largest airport with a history spanning about 100 years. This July, the airport served 3.2 million passengers, setting a new record for monthly usage.
