Scandinavian Airlines has launched a route from Copenhagen to Kiruna on December 12.
The flight will operate as a seasonal service on Thursdays and Sundays until April 27, 2025. An additional flight will be added on Saturdays during the six weeks of Christmas and New Year holidays. The Airbus A320neo will be used for the flights, with SAS Connect being responsible for operations. The flight duration is 2 hours and 25 minutes from Copenhagen, and 2 hours and 15 minutes from Kiruna.
Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located within the Arctic Circle at latitude 68 degrees north, and is known for its aurora sightings.
Due to increasing tourism demand in the Lapland region, it has already been decided to continue the operation into next winter’s schedule.
