Kyoto Century Hotel will offer the ‘Showa 100 Year Nostalgic Buffet in La Jyho’ from January 15 to April 2.
Due to the year 2025 marking the 100th year of the Showa era, the buffet will feature dishes that were popular from the late 1920s to the 1980s under the theme of ‘Retro Cafes and Nostalgic Western Cuisine.’ The buffet line will include ‘Steak’ finished in the La Jyho style, a synonym for Showa’s feast; ‘Napolitan Spaghetti,’ a classic menu in pure cafes combining ketchup and the flavor of Worcestershire sauce; ‘Cabbage Rolls with Cream Sauce,’ ‘Macaroni Gratin,’ ‘Tonteki,’ various ‘Retro Sweets,’ ‘Fried Shrimp,’ and ‘Stewed Hamburger’ among others. Diners can also enjoy creating a ‘Grown-up’s Kiddie Lunch’ by choosing from the menu and completing a plate with flags. For dinner, exclusive items such as ‘Roast Beef,’ ‘Beef Stew,’ and ‘Omelette Rice’ are also available. There are also ‘Baked Sweet Potato Brulee’ finished right before your eyes and ‘Cream Soda’ you can create by choosing from over 15 types of ice cream and three types of syrup.
The place is ‘All Day Dining La Jyho’ on the second floor. Lunch is available from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays with no time limit, two sessions of 90 minutes on weekends and holidays; dinner is from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm (until 9:00 pm on weekends and holidays) on weekdays within a 120-minute limit, two sessions of 90 minutes on weekends and holidays. Prices start at 5,000 yen for adults, 2,800 yen for children aged 7 to 12, and 1,500 yen for children aged 4 to 6. Prices include tax and service charge.
