The Lufthansa Group plans to introduce a free messaging service on long-haul routes as early as this summer.
This service will be available on transcontinental routes operated by Lufthansa German Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, and Austrian Airlines, allowing unlimited sending and receiving of messages, including photos.
Some airlines already offer this service, and it is being expanded. Lufthansa German Airlines provides the service on short- and medium-haul routes, and Austrian Airlines offers it on many of its aircraft.
