Keisei Electric Railway Merges with Shin-Keisei and Begins Operating Keisei Matsudo Line
Nippon Express, in collaboration with JR East Logistics, will launch the freight transportation service “NX Super Express Cargo” using the Shinkansen from February 26.
This is a same-day delivery service utilizing the Shinkansen luggage transport services “Hakobiyun Quick” and “Hakobiyun,” leveraging the speed and stability of the Shinkansen to deliver perishable goods and medical equipment on the same day. It can be used from a single item of cargo.
Available stations are between Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, Shin-Aomori, Morioka, Sendai, Koriyama, and Tokyo stations on the Hokkaido-Tohoku Shinkansen; between Niigata and Tokyo stations on the Joetsu Shinkansen; between Kanazawa, Nagano, and Tokyo stations on the Hokuriku Shinkansen; between Shinjo, Yamagata, and Tokyo stations on the Yamagata Shinkansen; and between Akita and Tokyo stations on the Akita Shinkansen.
The company plans to aim for national expansion of the service, gradually building same-day delivery services using Shinkansen luggage transportation services of various JR companies.
