JAL Introduces Yonezawa’s Famous ‘Beef Right in the Middle’ as In-flight Meal in Collaboration with Station Bento for the First Time
Lufthansa German Airlines will introduce a new in-flight meal concept for business class on short and medium-haul routes starting February 26.
Renowned chef Johann Lafer, along with Lufthansa’s culinary team and catering partner Gate Gourmet, have collaborated on this project. They offer a selection of hot and cold dishes inspired by various parts of Europe and local influences, focusing on sustainability, and comprised of an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
For routes with flight times over 2 hours, passengers can choose from vegetarian and non-vegetarian cold dishes. On routes over 3 hours, the selection of hot dishes has been increased from two to three options.
Pre-ordering is also available, allowing selection from up to nine options on flights over 2 hours. This reduces overstocking and helps cut down on food waste. The concept is already in use by the group’s Swiss International Air Lines and is expected to be introduced by Austrian Airlines.
