Shinano Railway will introduce the transportation IC card “Suica” across its entire line from spring 2026.
The Suica will be introduced between Karuizawa to Yashiro Koko Mae stations on the Shinano Railway Line and between Kita-Nagano to Myoko Kogen stations on the Kita-Shinano Line. The introduction will include implementing IC fare at 1-yen increments and digitizing discount tickets.
Before the service begins, a “ticket” for the entire section from the departure station to the arrival station is required, and if a passenger travels beyond the intended destination using Suica, they will need to settle the fare difference in cash.
