Panasonic and Osaka Metro: Trial of Open Air Conditioned Station Waiting Booth Until September
JR East will suspend the direct services of Yamagata and Akita Shinkansen to the Tohoku Shinkansen on March 6 and 7 due to a separation incident of train cars on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
The Yamagata Shinkansen will turn back at Fukushima Station, and the Akita Shinkansen will turn back at Morioka Station. The Yamagata Shinkansen will halt direct services between Fukushima and Tokyo Station, while the Akita Shinkansen will do the same between Morioka and Tokyo Station.
The independently operating Yamagata Shinkansen “Tsubasa 121” and “Tsubasa 160” will continue direct services between Tokyo and Shinjo Station.
Due to the separation incident, delays have occurred on the Tohoku, Yamagata, Akita, Hokuriku, and Joetsu Shinkansen in both directions, and there are sections with significantly wider intervals between operations. Temporary “Hayate” services are also being operated.
