Haneda Terminal 2 Main Building and North Satellite Connect on March 19; Discontinuation of South Pier Swing Operation
Air New Zealand will be joining the new Terminal 1 at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
The airline will relocate from the existing Terminal 1. Air New Zealand currently operates three weekly round trips from Auckland.
The new Terminal 1 is being constructed on the site of the current Terminal 1 on the south side of the airport, and on the grounds of the now-closed Terminal 2 and former Terminal 3. Construction is being carried out in phases, with the first phase, including 14 gates, set to open in 2026. Aiming for completion by 2030, it will eventually become the largest terminal at the airport, covering an area of 2.6 million square feet with 23 gates.
Several airlines, including EVA Air, Air Serbia, Air China, Philippine Airlines, Air France, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Scandinavian Airlines, and Turkish Airlines, have already announced their intention to operate at the new terminal.
