Sukesan Udon Opens a Pop-up Restaurant in Tokyo for a Limited Time: July 13 to 15
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau held a tourism seminar and trade meeting in Tokyo on March 7.
During the seminar, there was a presentation on Japanese traveler trends, estimating that 1.32 million people would visit Taiwan in 2024, a 145% increase year-on-year, with a recovery rate of 60% compared to 2019. Among these, the ratio of tourists rose to over 80%, with age groups in their 20s and over 50s showing an upward trend, while those in their 30s to 40s showed a downward trend. On the other hand, the number of inbound travelers to Japan exceeded 6 million, highlighting an imbalance.
A group interview for the media was conducted with outgoing Director Zheng Yiping, and newly appointed Director Wang Shaoxun, who assumed the position on March 14. Regarding the fluctuations in visitors by age group, it was mentioned that “for those in their 30s to 40s who are showing a declining trend, campaigns utilizing OTAs are deemed effective.”
