Alaska Airlines Introduces Personal Benefits to Mileage Plan
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) have started offering the mobile communication service “JAL Mobile” from April 9.
Monthly charges start from 850 yen, varying with data usage. Eight plans are available, with the plans over 10GB (starting at 1,400 yen per month) providing 500 miles for new contracts and monthly grants of 25 to 130 miles and 1 Life Status point for all plans.
The communication line will use NTT Docomo or au networks and supports eSIM. Multiple line usage and data sharing are also possible.
Furthermore, once a year, users can redeem a domestic round-trip award ticket, “Doko ka ni Mile,” for 1,500 miles. Plans of 45GB (3,300 yen) or 55GB (3,900 yen) earn enough miles for “Doko ka ni Mile” after one year of use. When using JAL Group-operated flights with applicable fares, bonus miles of 50 miles per domestic segment and 100 miles per international segment will be given.
As a launching campaign, new contract benefits will be increased to 1,000 miles until May 31, with service start by the end of June as a condition.
In the future, they plan to expand mobile communication services overseas and introduce new services and benefits in collaboration with the JAL Group.
