Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines have launched a campaign offering MVP status in their Mileage Plan for eligible route usage.
The campaign conditions include round-trips between the U.S. mainland and Sydney or Auckland on flights operated by both airlines, including flights by Horizon Air and SkyWest Airlines. Reward tickets and Saver fares are excluded. The travel period is until December 31, and the status will be granted by the 15th of the month following travel. The status is valid until December 31, 2026.
From Seattle, which is a hub for Alaska Airlines, passengers can transfer to Hawaiian Airlines’ flights to Sydney or Auckland via Honolulu. Compared to direct Seattle-Sydney flights, the distance for Honolulu stopover flights deviates by only 4 miles. Hawaiian Airlines operates five weekly round-trips on the Honolulu-Sydney route and three weekly on the Honolulu-Auckland route, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Typically, the Mileage Plan MVP status is achieved by earning 20,000 elite qualifying miles annually. Benefits include oneworld Ruby status perks and a 25% bonus on all flights, including those with partner airlines.
