JAL to Test Fuel-Efficiency with ‘Sharkskin’ Coating on 787-9 Aircraft for International Flights
STARLUX Airlines and Cosmo Oil Marketing have signed a purchase agreement for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The domestically produced SAF, which will be used for large-scale production for the first time in Japan, has acquired international certification systems for sustainable products, namely “ISCC CORSIA Certification” and “ISCC EU Certification.”
Manufactured by SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY, established by Cosmo Oil, JGC Holdings, and Revo International, it will be supplied through the Cosmo Energy Group to flights departing from Kobe Airport starting in the fiscal year 2025. STARLUX Airlines will become the first airline to use SAF at Kobe Airport.
