Vietnam Airlines Upsizes Aircraft for Tokyo/Narita-Danang Route to A350 in August
Thai VietJet Air will introduce up to 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
Out of the 200 aircraft already ordered by VietJet Air, up to 50 will be allocated. The delivery of the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft is expected to start in October.
To coincide with Thai Prime Minister Phaetongtarn Shinawatra’s first official visit to Vietnam, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was also in attendance for the signing ceremony.
As part of the agreement, Boeing will provide comprehensive technical support to Thai VietJet Air, including training and product services.
VietJet Air ordered 100 of the same aircraft type in 2016 and added another 100 in 2019. They agreed to continue fulfilling the orders in 2022. In 2023, they added conditions to deliver 200 aircraft over five years.
