
JAL to Retire Its First Boeing 777-300ER: Last Flight on the 26th
Japan Airlines (JAL) has changed the last flight of its first Boeing 777-300ER (aircraft registration: JA731J) due to aircraft rotation.
The last flight will be JL089 from Tokyo/Haneda to Shanghai/Pudong on May 26, and the return flight JL080 from Shanghai/Pudong to Tokyo/Haneda on May 27, arriving at 1 PM on the same day.
The aircraft was delivered on June 15, 2004, and made its debut flight on July 1 of the same year, flying from Tokyo/Narita to Singapore. After its last flight, it will undergo retirement maintenance over several months.
The cabin features: First Class “JAL SUITE” with 8 seats in a “1-2-1” configuration, Business Class “JAL SKY SUITE” with 49 seats in a “2-3-2” configuration, Premium Economy Class “JAL SKY PREMIUM” with 40 seats in a “2-3-2” configuration, and Economy Class “JAL SKY WIDER” with 147 seats in a “3-3-3” configuration, totaling 244 seats.
JAL had a fleet of 13 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for long-haul international routes, but has already retired one. With the introduction of the new Airbus A350-1000, the fleet will gradually phase out.
